Stretching across 2,000 acres of parkland, farmland and woodland, the beautiful Thornham Estate is located in the valley of the River Dove in rural north Suffolk. Thornham has a long and rich history and has belonged to the Henniker-Major family for over 250 years. The family continue to live at Thornham Hall and take a keen interest in the running of the Estate. Today, in addition to the farm, a number of other enterprises operate on the Thornham Estate. These include over 12 miles of well-established and popular permissive walks, known as Thornham Walks, a cafe, a restaurant, a Walled Garden, some fishing lakes, a bed and breakfast, some holiday properties and a campsite. There are also several longer-term rental properties available at Thornham Hall and in the Red House Yard complex.

Our latest statement on Coronavirus (23 March 2020)
This statement is an update to the one issued on 20 March 2020

Following government advice for people to stay at home and restrict the spread of Coronavirus, we have sadly taken the decision to close Thornham Walks until further notice.

From the end of the day on Tuesday 24
th March (at 4pm), the Walks car parks will be cordoned off and the main entrance to the footpaths closed.

The play area, café and waterless toilets remain closed.

We urge people to behave responsibly. The vulnerable in our community rely on us all to be vigilant.

We will continue to update you as the situation develops.

Look after each other.
