Volunteering
Thornham Walks provides volunteering opportunities to a wide variety of people. Every second Wednesday of the month is volunteer day, starting at 10am and finishing by 3.30pm. These Wednesdays are open to everyone whether you have experience of practical conservation work or not. The days are designed to get people out into the countryside where they can learn new skills, meet new people and get a bit of exercise at the same time
Work undertaken by volunteers includes grassland management, coppicing, footpath management, scrub clearance and general maintenance around Thornham Walks. If the practical side of volunteering does not interest you then there are other areas where Thornham Walks need help, for example patrolling the footpaths at weekends and bank holidays and helping with events and guided walks.

Teas and coffees are provided but you will need to bring your own packed lunch and wear suitable clothing and footwear, i.e. waterproof coat, work boots, walking boots or wellingtons.
